There is nothing wrong with being concerned about the safety of your hard-earned crypto assets, especially if you have purchased a huge amount of crypto assets. The best thing about crypto assets is that there are a lot of crypto storage options available in the marketplace. Isn't that great? But, if you are someone who owns highly valuable crypto assets, then I would suggest you go ahead with a hardware wallet. Being able to use a hardware wallet shouldn't be a matter of concern for you if you are a crypto professional. But, if you are just beginning your journey with a hardware wallet, then you can rely on this guide.
This article is not going to guide you about the initial wallet setup via Trezor.io/start but will introduce you to one of the most useful features of the wallet i.e. enabling the discreet mode.
So, what is the discreet mode in Trezor wallet?
Well, the Discreet mode in Trezor Suite allows you to enhance your privacy for your crypto assets. Enabling the discreet mode is easy and can be done in a fraction of a seconds. As soon as you enable this feature, every sensitive information on your Trezor Suite will become blurred and you will experience some changes in the icon as well. Enabling discreet mode does not mean that you cannot turn it off. Yes, you can turn off the discreet mode in just a few seconds. Once enabled, all your account balances will be disabled. To disclose any detail in the discreet mode, you just need to hover your mouse over it.
Apart from enabling discreet mode via Trezor.io/start, you can also create a hidden wallet which is passphrase-protected.
Steps to enable and disable discreet mode in Trezor Suite
Well, you can easily enable or disable discreet mode for your Trezor Wallet. But to do that, make sure that you have installed Trezor Suite. If you have not done that already, you can do so by navigating to https://trezor.io/start. After installing Trezor Suite, you can just connect your hardware wallet to it and then take further steps to enable/disable discreet mode.
To enable discreet mode, you can navigate to the bottom-left corner of the Trezor Suite interface and then select the eye-like icon button. As soon as you do so, all the sensitive pieces of information from your wallet screen will become blurry.
On the other hand, if you wish to disable the discreet mode, you can simply click the same button to toggle it off. That's it. But, please note that this action can only be performed on Trezor Suite installed via Trezor.io/start.
Conclusion:
As said in the previous part of this article, in addition to discreet mode, you can also create a hidden wallet on Trezor. To do so, you just need to have your passphrase. Begin by navigating to the top-left-hand corner of the Suite available via trezor.io/start and then choose the "Add hidden wallet" option and follow all the easy instructions on your screen.
